EVREN ODCIKIN
World Premiere
SENSITIVE GUYS by MJ Kaufman
InterACT Theatre Company, Philadelphia, PA (2018)
Is it enough just to be “working on your sh*t?” In the safe spaces of a small liberal arts college, the student-led Men’s Peer Education Group and women’s Survivor Support Group work together on an ambitious plan to eradicate all sexual violence everywhere in just five years. Five female and non-binary performers inhabit both male and female roles in this social satire about complicity and what it really takes to face the patriarchy.

"Odcikin’s direction enables the laughter, while building on (and exposing) Kaufman’s better devices."
—Philadelphia Inquirer
"Odcikin’s direction enables the laughter, while building on (and exposing) Kaufman’s better devices. Though I had to sit up to full-throated laugh at regular intervals, I mostly perched at the edge of my seat in captivated enjoyment, still thinking about the ideas a day later."
—Philadelphia Inquirer
“Director Evren Odcikin really mined Kaufman’s script, creating a frighteningly realistic story.”
—DelCo Culture Vultures
"Timely, meaningful. . . The actors that Odcikin employs are uniformly excellent."
—Philly Review
